Reception Room learning to subitise!
This means that they are learning to identify patterns without always having to count each dot!

Want to know abour symmetry? Room 25 can show and explain to you what it means and looks like........
Room 25 have been learning about symmetry as part of our geometry unit. We explored different symmetrical patterns found in nature and in the world around us. We also looked at the patterns that a kaleidoscope makes and were amazed by the beautiful symmetry we could see. We worked in pairs to make our own symmetrical patterns. There was a lot of discussion about rotation, flipping and 2D shapes.

Reception Room Counting Collections
Today the Reception Room were counting collections of different kinds of objects. We were so impressed with the way they worked with their buddy and counting these objects one by one. They got up to some big numbers such as 19, 36, and 40!
